SXSW Buzz: Visual.ly Lets Users Make Infographics With Ease

Visual.ly is the big tech creation that’s getting lots of buzz at the SXSW this year.  It allows users to create information graphics with ease. Just link to your favorite social media like Twitter and Facebook, make a few selections and Visual.ly  creates graphics like the one below.  I instructed Visual.ly  to generate content for the hashtag #SXSW and it created all the data and graphics in the image.  I’ll play around with it more to see how I can integrate it into stories we cover on SMC.

The Co-founder and CEO of Visual.ly is Stew Langille.  He told the blog Silicon Angle that data visualization through the creation of infographics is the next big “It” factor.  Since Twitter and FourSquare got huge boosts from launching at SXSW, he’s hoping  Visual.ly will do the same.
