David and Tamela Mann

By Erik Granados

On Saturday night David and Tamala Mann, better known as “The Browns” from box office films and their hit TV Show, entertained Houstonians at the one night performance during their Family Reunion Concert Tour.

A native of the state of Texas, David Mann masterfully showcases his God given talents in today’s most dynamic and distinguished genre.

Fooling around in fourth grade is when he realized he could make everyone laugh, said Mann. “It’s been downhill ever since,” said Mann.

Ingeniously funny and extraordinarily talented are understatements when it comes to the multifaceted actor and 2011 NAACP Award winner for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series (Meet The Browns, “Mr. Brown”).

An acclaimed actress, NAACP Image Award nominee and Dove Award-winning vocalist as well as wife and mother, Tamela Mann’s talent have helped anchor one of the industry’s most successful film, TV and theatrical franchises.

Mr. Mann’s other half and the other half that the audiences have gotten to know as “Cora,” highlighted her vocal gift, which is at the top of her impressive resume, at The Kingdom Builders Center.

Nominated for a Grammy for her hit single “Take Me to The King” produced by fellow gospel artist Kirk Franklin, Mann said the song was a blessing.

“This song is saying so many things that a lot of us are thinking without saying and we have to know, after all, God is still in control,” said Mann.

After the show David and Tamela told the audience to keep faith in God.

“There’s still food and water in the valley, even though there’s sometimes valley experiences; there not always bad,” said Tamela.
